Playing is essential for human development. Not just for young children, but throughout life. Many children suddenly stop when they go to secondary school. At least on the schoolyard, but not necessarily at home. You see that they mostly stop because of (imagined) social expectations. People who play throughout their lives stay younger and more vital for longer. It is the perfect way to keep practicing your skills, pushing your limits, and gaining new insights with your knowledge again and again. It is the source of innovation: in relaxation, the most sparkling ideas come to you!
A child who plays learns rhythm, to speed up, slow down, go loud and soft, be gentle and rough, connect, and explore and push boundaries. Connecting with himself, others, and his natural environment. Play brings relaxation, joy, and many other emotions. When a child enjoys his play, he can handle more, cope better with pain, and not only increase his physical and mental resilience but also strengthen his immune system. Through play, you can continually get to know yourself, your social and natural environment better, and understand how you relate to yourself, your social, and your natural environment. Through play, a child learns to discover his path (Tao) within the whole, in balance (Yin & Yang), and without force (Wu wei). In play, a child takes on risks he can handle and thus learns to trust himself. First with his parents, brothers and sisters, family, then friends… with someone who just happens to be in the same place he is one day… This way he learns that life is abundant and learns to go along with life from the core of who he is.
At the end of August 2026, Trias Vita will start new ‘Natural Oasis’ groups. Children from 3 to 5 years old discover through ‘Magic of Play’ who they are in relation to themselves and others. Sometimes indoors, but also outside in nature. This way, the natural development of children is addressed and encouraged;
In addition, Trias Vita coaches (exceptionally) gifted children and young people from an ecosystemic Taoist perspective to develop a healthy self-image. You can find more info about this here;
In the fall of 2026, Trias Vita will also start an (online) course on how to support a child in his development without punishing or rewarding him. You can find more info about this here.
If you are interested in coaching, the (online) course, or ‘Natural Oasis’, email Trias Vita.
Trias Vita is a centre for lifelong development that supports children and young people to develop in connection with themselves, others, and the natural environment from an ecosystemic Taoist life perspective: finding your path (Tao) in balance (Yin & Yang) and without force (Wu wei).
